GERTSEV GALLERY TO EXHIBIT WORKS BY TWO EASTERN EUROPEAN PAINTERS
ATLANTA – New Exhibition “Winter Blues” will feature works by two Eastern European painters: Ieva Iltnere and Kako. This exhibition stays open December 2nd through January 12th , 2006.
Opening Reception will take place December 2nd, 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Ieva Iltnere’s pieces are dreamy and cool, emerging from Iltnere’s detached and profound world. Barely outlined unreal characters are embossed in the sparse color spaces of gray, pearl, khaki, ice-blue, and olive; while flowing lines are balanced with the mosaic decor of ornaments, with the titles summoning the viewer’s imagination.
Each one of us was once a child, but few are capable of embodying the world of childhood impressions and feelings the way Kako portrays in his paintings. You cannot resist the magic of Kako’s works, their joy and kindness. All you can do is look forward to seeing them again and again.
