Gertsev Gallery presenting first Russian solo exhibition of Japanese artist Azami Takako.
Azami Takako was born in 1964 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. In 1988 she graduated Tama Art University where in the same time her first solo exhibition took place. Since that time artworks of Azami are exposing in museums and art – galleries allover Japan. She had exhibitions in Shibata Etsuko Gallery (Tokyo) and Chimera Gallery (Tokyo), in Meguro Museum of Art (Tokyo), Okayama Prefecture Fine Art Museum, Nagano Cultural Center; last retrospective exhibition of Azami was in 2004 in the Art – complex Ueno-no-Mori Museum.
Exhibition of last artworks of Azami Takako will take place in Meguro Museum of Art in Tokyo almost in the same time with her exhibition in the Gertsev Gallery.
Artworks of Azami Takako are in the collections of the Nerima and Meguro museums.
Contemplativeness of traditional Japanese esthetic and brightness of contemporary experiment are combined in Azami art style. Nature is the basis and source of development for individual style of Azami. On her opinion search and creation of expression is the most valuable in art. In 2002 from the bright colors Azami turned to the color-minimalism by creating black-white paintings. Restrained colors of her paintings expressing music and poetry of nature and impressing viewers of Azami art.
Complexity of art technique that Azami use distinguishing her paintings from the traditional Japanese ink paintings. Her artworks based on the collaboration of different ink techniques. Basic drawing Azami repeatedly washing with water to create effect of plurality of half – tints, besides that she covering by ink the reverse side of paper to reach the transparent effect, laying foil under the paper and covering it over with tracing.
During Azami Takako exhibition in the Gertsev Gallery paintings that were created in the period of 2002-2004 will be exposed. Expressive dynamic and staggering quiet harmonizing with space infinity sensation and concentration on the small details exist in Azami paintings witch are created by using traditional materials.
